The fourth graders took their spring field trip with the naturalists from the Montana Natural History Center to the Rock Creek Confluence today! We caught and identified various arthropods. They also went on nature hikes while using their naturalist journals to record their observations of what they saw.

Our third Grade class was given the opportunity to attend a field trip in Philipsburg Montana on Tuesday. We got to check out the Sweet Palace and see how taffy is prepared, made, and wrapped! We also were able to mine for Sapphires! Students came home with quite the collection of them! We had such a blast and the weather was absolutely perfect!

Our 3rd graders visited Phillipsburg yesterday to learn about the history of Montana sapphire mining. The sapphires were first discovered in Montana rivers during the gold rushes in the 1860's. We also got to visit The Sweet Palace to see how many of our favorite delicious treats are made! We had a blast!

Kindergartners recently spent a sunny morning at the MCPS ag farm. We fed bread to pigs, pet a dairy cow, took a tractor ride, and saw many piglets and lambs. We had a great day learning about farm life!

Our School Wide Read Aloud book this year was Words and Your Heart by: Kate Jane Neal. Students in TK - 8th all read the book in their classes and decorated hearts sharing their favorite thing about themselves. Those hearts are decorating our breezeway and they brighten my day as I walk through. We also had a drawing for teachers and students to win a copy of the book to keep in their classroom or at home. Here are a couple of our student winners!

Mrs. Hover's 4th graders celebrated 60 MyPath lessons passed in April with 100% accuracy. Each student put their initials in a bubble until we earned a root beer float party. Nice work, 4H!
