5th grade Arctic Animals presentations. The kids had a blast and loved sharing what they learned. This project incorporated math, science, art, reading, research, writing, and presenting!
7th and 8th graders had the tremendous honor of meeting Yukio Shimomura, who spent two years of his childhood behind barbed wire during World War II as a result of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the U.S. government to create exclusion zones and remove people with Japanese ancestry, including American-born citizens like him. Yukio is in town for a lecture at UM and generously sat down with 60 of our students, who were incredible hosts with amazing questions. He shared experiences of removal, camp conditions, and his serving in the U.S. military. Truly an inspiring American!

First grade classes enjoyed a field trip at the Rocky Mountain Gardens last week! Students learned a lot about seed dispersal with several engaging activities.
In Ms. Vandermeulen's class we have been learning all about apples. We enjoyed tasting all the different kinds of apples and graphing the results. We used Amelia Bedelia's recipe to make our own homemade apple pies and we cheered the start of fall with pressing our own cider.
A huge thank you to One Stop Local and Stockman Bank for their generous donation! Miss Quinn is thrilled to grow her classroom library and add new tools to support middle school note taking strategies. Your support helps Bonner students thrive.!
