Bonner School is now enrolling for our Kindergarten classes for the 26-27 school year! Do you have or know a child who will be 5 years old before Sept 10th of 2026? Please see the flyer for details. If interested, please fill out our enrollment paperwork (available on our website or in the front office) and contact Ty Woods at 406-258-6151 to schedule a 15 minute appointment! Appointments will be scheduled on April 15th & 16th.

Second grade took a walk to MRFD Station #4 for a tour to wrap up our text set on heroes! The friendly crew taught us all about how their gear, engines, and tools work. Students also got a shot at operating the jaws of life and spraying the fire hose! Making meaningful text-to-life connections while learning more about our community was a perfect way to wrap up the week!

First graders in Mrs. Vogel's class showed determination and hard work while reading, researching, and writing about their animal of choice. They wrote beautiful paragraphs detailing all they learned. Great job, first graders!

Our annual Bonner Book Bowl is down to the FINAL game. Which one of these two titles will win? Ask your elementary student which book has been their favorite.

6th graders had a full day learning local history at Fort Missoula and Milltown State Park. From "riding" the Bonner street car to walking the confluence trail, we had a wonderful time!

Congratulations to our top two students from the 2026 Bonner Spelling Bee: Brynja (left) and Abby (right)! Brynja took first place with the word: narwhal. Brynja will represent our school in the Missoula County Spelling Bee on February 5th at Sentinel High School.

Brrrrr-ing on the BOOKS Contest!
Our Bonner Book Fair is quickly approaching! Shopping will start Tuesday, March 3rd. We are looking for students to help us prepare for it by creating their very own snow themed decorations. The theme this year is Brrrrrring on the Books. The snow themed decoration you create will be displayed at the book fair as our imaginations cozy up with all the new books.
If you would like to participate, we will be choosing a favorite from each grade to win a free book from the Book Fair!
The Rules:
Snow decorations need to be made out of things found at home (non-perishable)
They need to be small enough for you to carry to school
They need to be completed and brought to the library by Friday, February 27th.

The fourth graders had their monthly visit from their visiting naturalist from the Montana Natural History Center. They investigated the structure and function of different bird beaks!

Today we learned about the 4 forces on an aircraft in flight (gravity, lift, thrust and drag) and we recreated Leonardo DaVinci’s parachute and tested our designs with different weights by dropping them off the playground. We also did an experiment to demonstrate how surface area affects lift. Then we began constructing paper airplanes of different weights. We weighed them and next week we will calculate the average distance by gram and compare across the class while also learning about controls in the cockpit and measuring wind shear.

Congrats to Brynja (6th Grade) and Abby T. (8th Grade)! They will both represent Bonner School at the Missoula County Spelling Bee in February! They battled for the win, completing 15 rounds, and Brynja came out on top!

Here is a cute video of 5C students singing a song about the continents! This class LOVES singing, and they've been begging to sing this song every day for the past week. Today we decided to put together a performance and shared it with Mr. Hungate before band!
