Kindergarten and first grade students celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday with the classic book Green Eggs and Ham. We all got to try some, too!

Parents of 3rd-8th graders! We have a few big weeks of testing ahead.
Kids all across the state, including ours, will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessments in the coming weeks. Your child will be taking this computer based summative assessment in the areas of English and Math. 5th & 8th Graders are also taking the Science Assessment.
Each grade will be testing over a period of two week with apx one hour of testing each day. It is imperative that your child is here during testing. Attendance is important! Students who are not here during testing will have to miss class time to make up the assessment. It’s also important that your child eat healthy fulfilling meals and get a good night’s rest prior to each testing day. Our lumberjacks are going to do great!
Feel free to contact me with questions. Katie Cotner, School Counselor kcotner@bonner.k12.mt.us 406.258.6151
Here is the following test schedule:
3rd Grade – April 4-7 & April 11-14
4th Grade- March 7-10th & March 14th-17th
5th Grade- April 4-7 & April 11-14

Bonner students have been learning all about managing emotions, practicing a growth mindset, responding with empathy and teamwork. These topics were all put to use this month when students had to work together to solve a team task. They did great!

Mrs. Burgess’s 2nd grade class spent all of 2-22-22 celebrating the once-in-a-lifetime date! We practiced alliteration, two-syllable words, words with double consonants and double meanings… and so much more! Being in 2nd grade on 2-22-22 is a big deal!

I can’t wait to see you all in the morning!!! School resumes Tuesday, February 22, 2022! Don’t forget to wear your tutus, ties or tube socks!

February 15th was School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. Mr. Hamilton's second grade class drew pictures and wrote thank you cards to Deputy Ryan from the Missoula County Sheriffs Office. We are so happy you are apart of our school community and feel so grateful to see you in the hallways. Thank you!

Happy Valentine's Day! Shout out to the Middle School Student Council who organized the Valentine's Dance last Friday. It was the largest MS dance EVER with record attendance. Thanks to Mr. Howard, Ms. Quinn, Ms. Homer, Mr. Jacobsen, and Mr. Huisken for chaperoning, and a huge thank you to our custodians Ty, Craig, Kurt, and Bill for helping us set up and tear down.

Happy Valentine’s Day from 7th grade English! Today 7th graders went on “speed dates” with books in order to find their perfect match. 💕 During each round, they selected a “book date” and then practiced the art of noticing and wondering in order to form a first impression. By the end of the 5 minute date, they had to decide if the book was right for them, or if they should say “thank u, next.” Many left class with a new book in their hands! 😍
