We have some super wonderful book characters in our Bonner Library pumpkin patch. Thank you to everyone that brought in pumpkins to decorate our shelves!
The fourth grade recently took a field trip to Maclay Flats with our naturalists from the Montana Natural History Center. They were able to explore the structure and function of various animals, become experts on many different living organisms, and go on a nature hike in search them.
These young men showed true lumberjack grit and battled through lots of adversity as a team but they never gave up. Proud is an understatement.
This is a wonderful way to start my day! Welcome back Lumberjacks!!
The Lumberjack Cross Country season ended on an inspiring note with almost all runners running their fastest paced for the duration of the 2 mile run. Though our team was small, we had lots of heart and were bursting with GRIT! The Jacks XC team worked hard every day of the season with long runs, mountain runs, intervals, and races. Great Job Jacks Runners!
7th graders just finished reading the short story “The War of the Wall” by Toni Cade Bambara. The story is about a painter who comes into a community to paint a new mural, but finds that she is less than welcome. These students wrote six word theme statements about the story, and then used them to create a chalk mural on the sidewalks! Check it out!

Mr. Hudson’s fifth grade class’ STEM assignment was to design and build a cardboard house. As you can see this house is pretty amazing with lots of attention to detail. There are windows, an overhang that covers the porch, a hollow foundation that hides a battery pack and wires for the light and switch that are inside the living room. What a cool STEM project!
This is my second year at Bonner as a teacher, but I have been apart of this community for my whole life.
Here is a little fun fact for you: I went to Bonner as a kid from Kindergarten to 8th grade. In first grade I was lucky enough to have the amazing Mrs. Addington. She had a saying and when we were doing well in class she would say "you knocked my socks off boys and girls!" She had a stick with a pair of socks attached to it and would wave it in the air. This is something that has always stuck with me and now something that I say to my students!
Mrs. Addington came to my classroom today and dropped off a special surprise. MY VERY OWN "KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF" STICK! I hope to make the same impact on my students as she made on me. I feel very lucky to be back.
